Jill Van Beke

Ms. Van Beke is the Development Manager for the Devon Group, where she is responsible for day-to-day management and operations, including due diligence, financial analysis, public approval processes and coordination with consultants.

Prior to the Devon Group, Ms. Van Beke served in Mayor Bill Haslam’s administration as Deputy Director of Policy Development for the City of Knoxville. In her role there, she supported real estate development efforts that led to over $90 million in private investment, supported efforts that led to approval of over $10 million in development incentives and coordinated public input processes for city projects and services, organizing communication and building consensus among community groups, city departments and the private business community.

Before moving to Knoxville in 2003, Ms. Van Beke was Development Manager for AvalonBay Communities in Washington, DC, and an Associate with Jones Lang LaSalle, a corporate real estate services firm, in Washington, DC, Atlanta and New York.

She currently serves on the boards of Center City Events, the Bijou Theatre and Nucleus Knoxville. Ms. Van Beke also serves on various committees for Knoxville’s Central Business Improvement District, Introduction Knoxville and United Way, and is a member of Columbia University’s Alumni Recruitment Committee. She has served previously on the boards of Friends of Literacy, Ijams Nature Center, Knoxville’s Promise, Knoxville Track Club and 91.9 Inc. Ms. Van Beke was a member of Leadership Knoxville’s Class of 2009.

Ms. Van Beke earned her degrees in Urban Studies, Economics and Anthropology from Columbia University.
